A Domicile Certificate (Niwas Praman Patra) is the Uttar Pradesh government's proof that you are a permanent resident of the state. It is what residents of Hamirpur are asked for when they apply for state-quota college seats, UP government recruitment and several welfare schemes. In Hamirpur the application is filed on the Uttar Pradesh e-District portal and the Hamirpur Tehsil verifies it. The name, the father's name and the address have to read identically on every document you upload. A mismatch between the Aadhaar spelling and the ration card sends more applications back from the Hamirpur Tehsil than any other single reason.
Whatever address the form carries is the one the Lekhpal verifies in Hamirpur. If your documents show two, file with the one your residence proof carries and leave the other out.

The most common rejection
Your name must be spelt identically across every document. A mismatch between the Aadhaar spelling and the ration card is the single most frequent reason an application comes back from the Hamirpur Tehsil.
