A Caste Certificate (Jaati Praman Patra) is the Uttar Pradesh government's record of the reservation category you belong to: SC, ST or OBC. It is what residents of Bahraich are asked for when they claim reservation in admissions, government recruitment and promotion. In Bahraich the application is filed on the Uttar Pradesh e-District portal and the Bahraich Tehsil verifies it. The name, the father's name and the address have to read identically on every document you upload. A mismatch between the Aadhaar spelling and the ration card sends more applications back from the Bahraich Tehsil than any other single reason.

The most common rejection
Your name must be spelt identically across every document. A mismatch between the Aadhaar spelling and the ration card is the single most frequent reason an application comes back from the Bahraich Tehsil.
