How to tell an official page from a copy

• The domain is a gov.in or nic.in address: read the whole domain, not just the words in it.
• There is a working citizen login, not only a form that collects your details.
• Fees are shown before payment, on the portal itself, with a receipt afterwards.
• There is no offer to expedite an application for an additional payment. No such facility exists. A number without a date is not information. Fee and threshold figures are only meaningful with the notification date attached. Treat any figure you cannot date (anywhere, including a well-ranked search result) as needing confirmation before you rely on it.
